Qualifications
A wartime veteran must have:

The Claimant (the one applying for benefits):
There are also asset and income qualifications that need to be taken into consideration.
What Determines Need?
The claimant must require two (2) of the following help needs in order to qualify:
A wartime veteran must have:
- Served 90 consecutive days of active military duty.
- Received other than dishonorable discharge
- Served at least 1 day of active duty during a wartime period.
A surviving spouse must:
- Not have divorced the Veteran or remarried after the veterans death.3
The Claimant (the one applying for benefits):
- Must be certified by a doctor as needing assistance with their daily living activities.
There are also asset and income qualifications that need to be taken into consideration.
What Determines Need?
The claimant must require two (2) of the following help needs in order to qualify:
- Medication management
- Dressing
- Feeding
- Personal Hygiene
- Toileting
- Transferring
- Prompting
- Sitting & Standing
- Showers/Bathing
